I Upgraded My Wife's Jeep With a $300 Temu Budget

Jenny drives a 2020 Jeep Compass with over 120,000 miles on it. While she was at work, I took it for the day with one rule: $300 total, and every part had to come from Temu, who sponsored the video. The goal was to see what actually makes a daily driver better to live with.

The practical upgrades

  • Wireless CarPlay adapter. Plugs into the factory USB port and gets rid of the cable she untangled every drive.
  • Fitted rubber floor mats. Molded for the Compass, not universal. The biggest visual improvement inside.
  • Jumper cables. Not exciting, but I'd rather she has them and never needs them.
  • Windshield phone mount and a 7-in-1 charger with multiple ports and a telescoping cable. It came a little short of reaching the mount, but it cleaned up the cord mess.
  • Headrest trash can, trunk organizer and sun shade. Her camera gear for work finally has a spot.
  • New key fob cover. Her old one was cracked.

The fun stuff

I added RGB footwell lights and, as it turns out, a starry headliner mode I didn't know the charger had. Then I tinted the front windows with 35% precut film and a kit. It was my first time tinting. It looks good from 10 feet away, and I'll probably redo it.

The reveal

The plan was a daytime reveal. Instead she needed the car that night, so she found the lights, the mats and the trunk organizer in the dark. She liked the practical stuff most.

Would I do it again?

None of this is life changing, but for $300 the car is nicer to use every day. Let me know in the comments on YouTube if you want to see exterior mods on it next.
